A few weeks ago, I had a great conversation with another photographer who reviewed my website. One piece of feedback she shared was about the clarity of my photography niche. While it was clear that I photographed people, the distinct niche was missing. This caused me to have a moment of panic. I didn’t want to confine myself to a single genre of photography and wasn’t sure what to do.
After some reflection, I realized that my niche isn't defined solely by the types of sessions or events I cover—it's about the essence of my work, centered around the people I capture. My niche is that I am a queer photographer. My mission is to curate spaces where queer people can authentically express themselves, feeling safe, empowered, and truly seen.
